Field Notes
Field Identity
Variable Cracker (Hamadryas feronia) is the real-world biological anchor for this Vault-Specimen. Hamadryas feronia, the Variable Cracker, is a Neotropical cracker butterfly with mottled gray-brown patterned wings that camouflage it against bark. Hamadryas butterflies are famous for resting flat on tree trunks, and males in the genus produce audible crack-like signals in flight.
MycoVault Interpretation
Feronia Barkcracker preserves that recognizable identity while translating selected morphology into fictional signal traits inside the Cracklewood Myco-Verse. Its battle behavior is classified as Bark Cracker, with signature abilities Barkphase Lock, Crackle Pulse, and Feronia Break. These abilities, statistics, energy effects, and Myco-Verse locations are game lore rather than biological claims.
Collector Signal
Myco-Patrons should treat the common/scientific identity and morphology as the biological reference, while the signal effects and combat language are MycoVault fiction. The visual must remain clearly anchored to Variable Cracker rather than becoming an unrelated fantasy creature.
Collector Note
Separate biological counterpart created for Forge request MV-FORGE-REQ-20260824-DD8892D5. Established biological identity and morphology are separated from fictional MycoVault abilities, stats, signal effects and Myco-Verse geography.
