Corrina's Ethical Field Collection

Corrina's fieldwork is rooted in her private five-acre homestead, where daily life, citizen science, habitat restoration, plant research, ethical collection, and ecological learning all grow together. This is her home first, and it is also a living landscape she is continually observing, improving, and learning from.

Through 3G-Nursery, Green Grass Grove, and the 3G-Camping Retreat, she is expanding pollinator plants, host flora, trail habitats, shaded refuge areas, moisture zones, microhabitats, and educational discovery spaces. She may also survey and legally collect at other locations only where access and collection are authorized.

Her goal is not simply to build a collection beside nature. It is to help the homestead itself become healthier, more diverse, more educational, and more alive with every season, while documenting discoveries through the Myco-Emporium and The Mushroom Network.

A Personal Passion Becoming a Living Record

Each field session becomes an opportunity to improve identification skills, document seasonal activity, learn habitat relationships, and preserve useful observations for future Myco-Patrons.

Survey

Walk habitats slowly, observe host plants and microhabitats, and note environmental conditions before deciding whether any specimen should be handled or retained.

Record photographs, approximate location, date, weather, habitat type, life stage, behavior, abundance, and preliminary identification.

Identify

Compare field marks, species ranges, host associations, and reliable references while clearly labeling uncertain identifications.

Many encounters remain photographs and observations. Temporary handling does not automatically become permanent collection.

When a specimen is legally and ethically retained, the goal is education, husbandry, scientific documentation, natural-history preservation, or artistic interpretation.

Her Homestead Is Part of the Ecological Exchange

Corrina's work does not end when a field observation is recorded or a legally and ethically collected specimen enters the archive. The same five-acre homestead where she lives is also where she studies which plants, flowers, host species, shelter zones, moisture systems, and habitat features can better support local insects, pollinators, birds, amphibians, reptiles, fungi, and other native fauna.

Through 3G-Nursery, Green Grass Grove, and the 3G-Camping Retreat, the property is being transformed into a more diverse living environment where wildlife can feed, shelter, reproduce, travel, and safely choose from a wider variety of resources. The work blends home, stewardship, research, education, propagation, and exploration into one growing system.

Corrina may retain a very small number of legally and ethically collectible specimens, but she is simultaneously expanding the plants, food sources, shelter, habitat variety, and educational awareness available to far more organisms across her homestead. The purpose is not simply to take from nature. It is to observe, understand, contribute, restore, and help the local living network become more resilient.

Green Grass Grove is not a detached research site. It is part of Corrina's home and daily life. Every new plant, trail improvement, habitat pocket, and field record becomes part of a long-term relationship with the land she lives on and cares for.

Abundance does not remove responsibility. It increases the opportunity to study carefully.

Corrina may encounter many organisms during a field session while retaining only a small subset, sometimes roughly 1 to 15 specimens in a day. Quantity alone does not determine ecological safety, so identity, abundance, habitat sensitivity, reproductive status, legal protection, and purpose are also considered.
